UPDATE, 7/17/26: Missing Brown County resident Gary Eicher has been found safe in Marquette County.
Thursday around 8:38 p.m., Chocolay Township Police was contacted regarding a stranded motorist. The officer who responded found the driver was Gary Eicher of Allouez, Wisconsin, who was reported missing Wednesday. He was last seen driving in Calumet Thursday morning.
The officer contacted Wisconsin authorities and told them Eicher had been found. Eicher was then taken to UPHS-Marquette for care and to await reunification with his family.
Chocolay Township Police would like to thank the passerby that stopped to check on Mr. Eicher and called 911 to report his situation.

BROWN COUNTY, WI— Wisconsin and Michigan police are asking the public for help in locating a missing Brown County, Wisconsin man.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice issued a Silver Alert for Gary Eicher, 74, of Allouez. He’s described as a 5’4”, 150 lb. white man with blue eyes, gray balding hair, and a full beard. He wears prescription glasses and was seen Wednesday between 6 and 8 a.m. wearing jeans and a T-shirt.
Eicher is driving a 1994 Dark Blue Chevrolet Geo Prizm with Wisconsin license plate 522PVS. The vehicle was seen northbound on US-41 in Calumet around 10:30 Thursday morning. Eicher is believed to have dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
