Speaking with Alliance president Sue Roll

The Upper Peninsula Arts & Culture Alliance will host an inaugural conference aimed at fostering collaboration across the Upper Peninsula.

The mission of the UPACA is to "foster and promote creativity by encouraging connections between individuals, organizations, artists, performers, and audiences throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan." The Alliance began in 2016 with the idea to help develop the various Arts and Culture sectors across the U.P., with focuses on visibility, connectivity, and sustainability of the arts. The first annual alliance conference, Collaborating Creatively Across the U.P., will work towards the goals of that mission with roundtables, panels, keynotes, and more.

Guest speakers at the conference include Ash Hanson, CEO of the Department of Public Transformation, and a fundraising workshop on September 8th with Chad Barger of Productive Fundraising.

The First Annual Alliance Conference, Collaborating Creatively Across the U.P., takes place on Saturday, September 9th at Bay College West in Iron Mountain.
