A talk with Octavio about the October 7th concert

The Marquette Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 2023-24 season this Saturday in Marquette.

The concert, titled An Evening with Tim Kliphuis, welcomes him as a special guest in two capacities: as a violin soloist and a composer. The evening starts with Kliphuis' Violin Concerto in D minor "Ulysses," which combines elements of classical, gypsy jazz, and folk music. The second work programmed is Antonin Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World."

Kurt Hauswirth had a conversation with Octavio about what he looks forward to in this weekend's concert:

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
