The Marquette-based power-pop band Liquid Mike is on the rise.
Since their debut release "Stuntman" in 2021, Liquid Mike has consistently dropped releases of singles and long-players on digital and physical formats. As of 2024, they have eight releases, including their latest LP, "Paul Bunyan's Slingshot," which has been reviewed by lofty publications such as Rolling Stone and Stereogum. Mike Maple and the band are taking their increasing notoriety and fame in stride, continuing to record music while entertaining further touring ideas.
Kurt Hauswirth spoke with Mike over the phone while on a break from his mail-carrying shift:
Liquid Mike will celebrate the release of "Paul Bunyan's Slingshot" with a show at Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette on March 28th along with The God Eaters and Anise Star. More information about the band can be found at liquidmike.bandcamp.com or on their Instagram page.
