Michigan travel website My Michigan Beach and Travel celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week (May 19-25) with information, awards, and a sweepstakes.

The nationwide weeklong event, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday weekend, highlights the importance of travel and tourism to the Michigan economy. Almost half a million jobs in Michigan and $27 billion in direct visitor spending are impacted by travel and tourism.

2024 Beachy Award Winners, including McCarty's Cove in Marquette, MI

The travel website announced its 2024 Beachy Award winners. “Each of the Must-Visit Beaches was chosen for a variety of criteria, including ADA accessibility, unique location, dog-friendliness, and water safety, making them perfect spots to explore this summer beach season,” said Jill Halpin, Founder and Chief beach Officer of Mymichiganbeach.com. The winners are Jean Klock Park in Benton Harbor; Empire Village Beach in Empire; McCarty’s Cove in Marquette; Oscoda Beach Park and Port Crescent State Park in Port Austin.
