Schuette highlights Flint, law enforcers at GOP convention

lansingstatejournal.com

CLEVELAND, OH (AP)--   Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has called attention to Flint's drinking water crisis and law enforcement at the Republican National Convention.

Schuette, a likely 2018 gubernatorial candidate, is Michigan's lone stage speaker at the four-day presidential nominating convention in Cleveland. Speaking for less than three minutes Monday, he told delegates that "justice is coming to Flint."

His criminal and civil investigation of the city's public emergency has led him to file charges against government employees and to sue water engineering companies.

Schuette also asked the crowd to "stand" with law enforcement after recent fatal shootings in Texas, Louisiana and at a Michigan courthouse.
