Casey Hoffman throws his hat into the 108th District House ring

Casey Hoffman

MENOMINEE, MI— Menominee Mayor Casey Hoffman has announced his candidacy for Michigan’s 108th District House seat.

The Republican hopes to secure the nomination to replace Representative Dave Prestin, who is running to replace Ed McBroom in the state Senate.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, Hoffman said, “I am running because I believe the Upper Peninsula deserves a higher standard of leadership. Too often, we look to Lansing for answers. I think Michigan would be better served if our capital looked more like some of our best run cities and towns, where people set aside differences and get things done — together.”

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
