Missing man found safe near Rudyard

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   An Illinois man who went voluntarily missing in the eastern U.P. last week has been found safe and sound.

Russell Ulrey, 45, of Lake Bluff talked about doing a Lake Superior circle tour. His rental vehicle was found last week in the Rudyard area, but there was no sign of Ulrey.

Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post say Ulrey became lost in the wooded area around Rudyard. He was able to find shelter in a deer blind until he was located on Saturday.

Ulrey was in good health. Authorities in Lake Bluff were notified.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
