Pine Mountain Music Festival Announces 2021 Live Season

Pine Mountain Music Festival

The Pine Mountain Music Festival is back in 2021. They celebrate the return to live concerts across the Upper Peninsula along with their 30th anniversary as an organization bringing classical music to the Marquette, Houghton, Iron Mountain and Crystal Falls areas.

The tour starts in Marquette at Kaufman Auditorium on June 16th, moves to the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls on the 18th, and arrives at The Rozsa Center for the Arts in Houghton on June 19th.

Performers include The Bergonzi Trio (pianist Lindsay Garritson and string players Ross Harbaugh and Scott Flavin), the UPStarts youth performers, and the collaborative "cast," which will pull together members of the Marquette Symphony Orchestra, the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, members of the Marquette City Band, and NMU Dance.

Audiences can expect Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring with original choreography by Maise Zahn and her company from NMU Dance, along with music of Rossini, tributes to Chick Corea and Stevie Wonder and more.

The festivities start with The Bergonzi Trio performing Wed. June 16th at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette, followed by performances at the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls June 18th, and June 19th at the Rozsa Center in Houghton. The UPStarts and 30th Anniversary Show occur the following weekend on June 25th and 26th in their respective locations.

More information and tickets can be found at pmmf.org.

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
