With all the great music released in 2023, it can be hard to keep up. So, Kurt Hauswirth, host of The Shuffle, decided to make a list of the best songs of 2023, in his humble opinion. He started with ten, then decided on one for each month of the year. This is not necessarily a list of the crowning achievements of music-making, in a "we're better than you" kind of way, but rather, a jumping-off point for those looking to dive into music releases they may have missed.
There was plenty of variety to pick from, with genres ranging from indie rock, electro-pop, post-punk, Americana, and more. So, without further ado, here we are:
Welcome To My Island - Caroline Polachek
Too Much Music - Jake Shears
Pyjamas - Benny Sings, Remi Wolf
Watching The Credits - The Beths
Holiday House - Beach House
But Not Kiss - Faye Webster
The Trench Coat Museum - Yard Act
Too Much, Enough - Nation of Language
Weightless - Romy
Changes - Joy Oladokun
Northern Attitude - Noah Kahan, Hozier
Headlights On - Wild Nothing, Hatchie
