Jackson Mine Playground launches Patronicity campaign

Negaunee Downtown Development Authority

NEGAUNEE, MI— The City of Negaunee and Michigan Economic Development Corporation have launched a crowdfunding campaign to transform the Jackson Mine Playground into a vibrant, inclusive space.

If the campaign reaches its Patronicity goal of $50,000 by May 22, the project will win a matching grant with funds made possible by MEDC’s Public Spaces Community Places program.

The city of Negaunee was approved for a Michigan DNR Trust Fund Grant for the construction of a new playground to be located between the Negaunee Senior Center and the Jim Thomas Pavilion. It will offer a play space within walking distance of historic downtown and allow residents in the vicinity a walkable option for a playground.

Project details are at www.patronicity.com/jmp.
