MOHAWK, MI (AP)-- A Keweenaw County resort known for extreme skiing is building a hostel to keep attracting a young crowd.
Mount Bohemia in Mohawk is building a hostel with two rooms of 12 beds each. One room is for women and one is for men. The $45 daily rate will include breakfast and dinner.
Media relations director Stacy Kremer tells The Grand Rapids Press that millennials are looking for skiing with a "party vibe."
The Keweenaw Peninsula averages 273 inches of snow a year. Mount Bohemia doesn't groom its runs, and the snow is compared to dry powder found out West.
