Munising boys' basketball team wins state championship

EAST LANSING, MI— The Munising High School boys’ basketball team is #1 in the state.

On Saturday the team won the MHSAA Division 4 Championship in East Lansing. Munising defeated reigning champ Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian, 39-37.

It’s the first basketball state title in the school’s history.

Kane Nebel had 14 points, Jack Dusseault contributed 8, and Trevor Nolan added 7 points for the win.

The final was played at Michigan State University’s Breslin Center.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
