IRON MOUNTAIN, MI-- The state is giving the Dickinson County Road Commission $2 million to update Lake Antoine Road.
The project will make the stretch all-season as part of an economic development plan in Iron Mountain.
Officials say upgrading the road will provide a year-round alternate route between US-2 and US-141’ to keep commercial traffic from downtown Iron Mountain. They say it will also provide a direct access link with the System Control facility for receiving raw materials and shipping their product.
The project is expected to cost about $2.5 million. Local matches will make up the difference.
