Gladstone home burns down

GLADSTONE, MI--   Fire has destroyed a residence in Gladstone.

Public Safety officers were called around 6:30 Wednesday morning to 715 Minnesota Avenue on a report of a stove fire.  Upon arrival officers found that flames had already spread through the house.  The Escanaba Township Fire Department was called in to help, but the house was a total loss and a neighboring home was also damaged.

Police say two adults and two young children were in the house at the time of the fire.  A smoke alarm alerted them and they were able to escape unharmed.

The fire remains under investigation.
