Police work to identify body found in Menominee County

MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A body has been found in a Menominee Township river.

Menominee County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified around 11 a.m. Saturday after the deceased individual was discovered in the unnamed river.

Sheriff Kenny Marks says the person has not been positively identified, and the amount of time the body was in the water is undetermined. He does not believe the general public is in danger.

The Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab are working to determine the cause and location of death.
