Michigan commits to $97 million investment into recycling

LANSING, MI (AP)--   On the week of Earth Day a group of Michigan leaders has announced the state's $97 million commitment to funding recycling efforts statewide.

NextCycle Michigan is an initiative to support the state's sustainability goals to get Michigan to a 30% recycling rate by 2025 and 45% eventually.

Leaders announced Monday in addition to NextCycle, $4.9 million in grants have been awarded by Renew Michigan to support community efforts to improve recycling.
