NEWBERRY, MI-- A Newberry lumber mill has been destroyed by fire.
A logging truck driver who was making a delivery saw smoke at the Besse Forest Lumber Mill around 1:30 Thursday morning and contacted authorities.
No injuries have been reported. Officials say the building on East Victory Way is considered a total loss. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Fire crews from Newberry and Columbus, Garfield, and Portage Townships battled the flames.
