Marquette Police search for hit and run driver

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run incident Thursday morning.

Officers say a woman was walking on the eastern side of Presque Isle Avenue around 9:50 a.m. when a southbound pickup truck turning east onto Wright Street hit her.  The woman wasn’t able to give the color of the truck, but says it was driven by a young white male.

The victim was taken to Marquette General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who knows the identity of the driver or who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Marquette Police at 228-0400.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
