WLUC-TV

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people are injured, following a two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township.

State Police from the Negaunee Post say the accident happened Tuesday around 4:05 p.m. on US-41 near Northwoods Drive.  Troopers say a Chevy Cavalier driven by James Lemmond, 26, of Ishpeming pulled out of Fox Motors of Marquette and into the path of an eastbound Chevy Blazer driven by Christine Mattfolk, 59, of Dollar Bay.

Both were taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Lemmond was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
