Man electrocuted in the Copper Country

ADAMS TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Calumet man has died during a volunteer project in Houghton County. 

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office say the incident happened Tuesday around 11 a.m. in Brooklyn Location in Adams Township.

A group of people from the area were volunteering their time to make repairs to a house.  A 38-year-old man was setting up scaffolding when he hit a nearby power line and was electrocuted. 

Adams Township First Responders tried to revive the man but were unsuccessful. 

The accident remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
