Car, dumpster severely damaged in Marquette Township crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person has been injured in a single-vehicle accident in Marquette Township.

Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened Wednesday around 3:50 p.m. on US-41 at the Napa Auto Parts store.

Witnesses say Brad Robinson, 22, of Shingleton was eastbound when his Ford Mustang suddenly swerved across the eastbound lanes, the grassy median, and the westbound lanes, narrowly missing oncoming traffic.  The vehicle went into the ditch, striking a dumpster and the Napa sign post.  The dumpster was thrown about 50 feet.

Robinson was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  Witnesses say it appeared he may have had a seizure before the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
