Rollover crash sends Marquette man to hospital

MARQUETTE, MI--   One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 550 over the weekend.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident Saturday around 7:30 p.m.  They say a 27- year-old Marquette man was northbound when he lost control of his pickup truck.  The vehicle left the roadway, hit a guide wire, and rolled over several times.

The driver was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  His condition is unknown.

Deputies believe speed and alcohol were factors in the accident, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
