Wallace man injured in snowmobile accident

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Menominee County man was injured in a snowmobile accident in Forsyth Township Wednesday. 

Sheriff’s deputies were called around 12:30 p.m. to Trail 32 about two miles west of Trail 33.  They say Christopher Beardsley, 25, of Wallace was westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve.  When he saw he was going to collide with a tree Beardsley jumped off the snowmobile and his right leg struck a tree. 

A passing trail groomer found Beardsley and took him to County Road 557, where he was met by deputies, fire personnel, and EMS  He was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment. 

Officials say speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
