Body recovered from Lake Superior confirmed as Black Rocks victim

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police confirm a body found in Lake Superior last week near the Lower Harbor ore dock is the man who was swept off the Black Rocks at Presque Isle Park in October.

The body of Robert Anderson, 53, of Iron River was discovered Thursday morning near the Hampton Inn.

Anderson was one of two people who ventured onto the rocks during hurricane-force winds and 25-foot waves October 24. The body of Sarah Hall, 37, also of Iron River, has not yet been found. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
