Wisconsin teen killed in Marinette County crash

PORTERFIELD, WI— An 18-year-old girl has died in a two-vehicle crash in Marinette County.

Sheriff Randy Miller says deputies were dispatched Wednesday at 5:52 p.m. to State Highway 180 south of Nettleton Road in the town of Porterfield.

Investigation indicates Jacob Lebick, 39, of Marinette was southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Alise LaPierre, 18, of Marinette.

LaPierre sustained fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Grover-Porterfield Fire Department, and Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area EMS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
