ESCANABA, MI— One person died when a pickup truck hit the Delta Plaza Mall in Escanaba on Sunday.
Escanaba Public Safety says just before 3 p.m., a vehicle driven by Kenneth Wyka, 54, of Montreal, Wisconsin left the road and struck the back of Dunham’s Sports.
Personnel immediately began a medical assessment of Wyka. Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one inside the building was injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
Assisting with the incident were the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Delta County Central Dispatch, Rampart, and Gene’s Towing.
