MSP looking for driver responsible for Marquette Township crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI— Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post are asking the public for help in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in a Marquette Township crash.

It happened Wednesday around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ontario Avenue and West Fair Avenue. The driver who caused the crash didn’t stop and fled the scene.

No injuries were reported by the other driver, but there was significant damage to the vehicle and a SEMCO gas line marker. Marquette Township Fire responded to the scene to check for any gas leaks or damage to the line. No leaks were found.

Witnesses took a photo of the vehicle involved in the crash. It’s believed to be a 2013 to 2015 Lexus RX350. It likely has substantial damage to the
front passenger side and center grill area.

Witnesses thought the driver may have been an older person.

Anyone with information about the crash or the vehicle involved is asked to contact the MSP Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
