Houghton, MI – The Copper Country Citizens for Progressive Change has established library in Houghton. The library is located in the meeting room of the Motherlode Coffee House. Owner Bill Rosemurgy says the idea to open a library began in 2003, when other members of the group expressed interest in combining their various collections of alternative materials for public use. He says once they decided to use an unused room in the coffee shop, the public donated their time and materials to build the library. The library now contains a plethora of books ranging from children's stories to books about alternative energy sources. The Citizens for Progressive change encourages donations, and asks that you write your name on anything you drop off at the library.
