Overcrowding No Longer a Problem at NMU

By Anthony Reynolds

Northern Michigan University – Overcrowding isn't a problem at Northern Michigan University anymore. Housing Director Carl Holm says there are over 150 empty beds in the dormitories and apartment complexes on campus. Around 280 new student dorms will be created after a renovation of Magers Hall is completed at the end of May. A new 300-student apartment complex is also in the planning stages. Holm says he doesn't expect any overcrowding problems next semester, despite expecting higher enrollment. Renovation of Magers Hall begins March 1st, and groundbreaking of the new apartments is slated for early spring.
