Marquette, MI – Marquette Area Public Schools may be one of many districts affected by an agreement that would seek to remove caffeinated soda from school vending machines. The Alliance for a Healthier Generation has made an agreement with several soda companies to remove the unhealthy beverages in an attempt to offer healthy options to students. MAPS superintendent Jon Hartwig says the agreement could affect Marquette schools as early as 2008 and is one of many ways the district is trying to improve student nutrition.
