Quinnesec, MI – The former International Paper mill in Quinnesec has been purchased by a New York company and has undergone a name change. Mill manager Mike Sussman says the transformation ends there, and business will continue as usual at the mill, now dubbed Verso Paper's Quinnesec Mill. The new name comes from a term used in the printing business meaning the other side of the paper. Sussman says it refers not only to that meaning but to the transition that comes with leaving International Paper. Apollo Limited Partnership Group purchased the mill for $1.4 billion. The mill employs 500 people and produces coated paper for magazines, catalogs and retail inserts.
