Marquette, MI – Two men have been arrested, following a police chase in Marquette. City Police say the incident occurred around 1:20 Wednesday morning on US-41 South near the Nordic Bay Lodge. A vehicle was clocked going 72 mph in a 55 mph zone, but failed to stop. It exceeded 100 mph as it entered South Front Street, lost control, and crashed into the yard of 401 North Front. The driver, 22-year-old Timothy Supanich of L'Anse, was arrested for Driving with a Suspended License, Fleeing and Eluding an Officer, and Felonious Driving. He was not injured. The back-seat passenger, 21-year-old Matthew Friisvall of Baraga, was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on three outstanding warrants. The front-seat passenger, 27-year-old Nathaniel Foy of L'Anse, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Jaws of Life. He was treated and released from MGH.
