Passengers slightly injured in Schoolcraft County accident

By Nicole Walton

Doyle Township, MI – Some people were slightly injured in a Schoolcraft County accident over the weekend. Troopers from the Manistique Post say the incident occurred Sunday around 10 a.m. at the intersection of US-2 and Kelly Road in Doyle Township. Janet Unger, 37, was southbound on Kelly Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign. She pulled out onto the highway and was hit broadside by a semi driven by 39-year-old Ricky Labumbard of Gladstone. Unger and some of her six passengers were treated and released from Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. Labumbard and his five-year-old son were not injured in the accident.
