Marquette Police to get part of moneys seized in drug investigation

By Nicole Walton

Marquette, MI – The Marquette Police Department will receive just over $47,000 in drug proceeds. On November 18 of last year, police conducted a traffic stop on Clyde Vadnais, and found a suitcase containing $69,500 in the back seat. The Federal Government filed a civil forfeiture against the money, saying it was funds to be used to facilitate a drug transaction. Last month a federal district judge decided to provide Marquette Police with $47,411 for their participation in the investigation.
