UNDATED – A bill that passed the U.S. Senate last week will help an Alger County road. The technical corrections bill amends the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act--or SAFETEA--after problems became apparent when it was passed three years ago. The 2005 transportation bill contained funding to pave two portions of County Road H-58, but inadvertently left out a section of the road. Construction couldn't proceed until the bill was amended. The new corrections bill includes the missing section, and will allow the paving to move forward.
