Marquette Road Commission to get $743,000 in stimulus funds

By Nicole Walton

Undated – The Marquette County Road Commission has been told how much federal stimulus funding it will get. Officials say they'll use the $743,345 to rebuild about two miles of County Road 557. The $745,000 project will begin at the intersection of Serenity Drive and proceed south near the intersection of Blisky Lake Lane. Commission officials say the project will bring the stretch of road up to the all-season trucking standard and update the guardrail to current safety standards.

Bids are expected to go out late this summer, and officials say it will be completed in July of 2010.
