Marquette, MI – Great Lakes Recovery Centers is holding a fundraiser to increase awareness of alcohol abuse. The Running to the Rescue event will take place next Saturday at Presque Isle Park, in Marquette, and will include a 5K-run and a 2 mile walk. Terry Klavitter is the marketing coordinator for GLRC. He says alcohol abuse is something that has an effect on everyone and needs to be addressed. Registration begins at 8am next Saturday at the Presque Isle Pavilion and the run is scheduled to start at 9am. The registration fee is $20.00 and all proceeds go to support local substance abuse treatment centers.
