Haight Township, MI – A man reported missing from Carpentersville, Illinois has been found in the Upper Peninsula. The Ontonagon County Sheriff's Office says a Paulding man called Saturday afternoon to say he found a car on Forest Highway 5311 in Haight Township. The vehicle was registered in Illinois. When deputies ran the plate they found it belonged to Matt Karwacki, 29, who was last seen on June 12th. A search of the area was conducted with the help of a K-9 unit from the Stephenson State Police Post. Karwacki was found hanging from a tree in a heavily wooded area about 300 yards west of the vehicle.
Assisting in the search were the State Police Ontonagon and Ewen detachments, the Wakefield Post, and U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement.
