UPPCO says customers can avoid high January bills

By William Beacom

Undated – Upper Peninsula Power Company is suggesting consumers use a little planning to avoid overwhelming post-holiday bills. UPPCO says January energy bills are often higher due to the extra lighting, cooking, and entertaining customers enjoy over the holidays.

Officials say using energy-efficient holiday lighting is one way to diffuse large bills. Consumers can also go to UPPCO's website at uppco.com and use the Holiday Light Calculator to determine the energy cost of holiday displays.
