Marquette, MI – The Green Bay Packers will be in Marquette Tuesday to party with their U.P. fans.
It's part of the team's annual Tailgate Tour, and all proceeds will benefit the Bay Cliff Health Camp.
Camp Director Tim Bennett says hall-of-fame players like Jim Taylor and Forrest Gregg will sell and sign their books, and 1997 Super Bowl team members Dorsey Levins, Gilbert Brown and Antonio Freeman will be here, along with current players Desmond Bishop, Matt Flynn and Josh Sitton.
Bennett notes the tailgate tour has never come to the U.P.
"We requested to the Packers that this be opened up to the whole community," he says. "They've never done this before. It's always been in a little gymnasium in a small town in Wisconsin, and I asked them specifically if we could have a general admission because I wanted to invite everyone who wanted to come. Bay Cliff serves the whole U.P. And we've had 12,000 children in our program over the past 77 years, and we couldn't do something that was exclusive."
The party takes place Tuesday at the Superior Dome. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the players will arrive at 6.
