Interview: An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe

Peter White Public Library / EventKeeper

Edgar Allan Poe is a well-known poet, but he did more than write "The Raven."  He was a writer, an editor, and a literary critic, but he also inspired generations of writers and creatives with imaginative tales filled with darkness, mystery and macabre nature.

2019 is the year of his 210th birthday, and a special event celebrating the life and work of Poe will happen at the Peter White Public Library, Wed. January 16th at 7pm.

Former Upper Peninsula Poet Laureate Russell Thorburn, along with a variety of other speakers and musicians, will hold a concert of Poe readings and creativity inspired by his works in the Community Room of the Peter White Library.

Russell Thorburn, Christopher Scott Leith and Becca McAllister came to Public Radio 90 to tell us more about what can be expected:

The event is sponsored by the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of Peter White Public Library; no admission fee.  For more information, call 906-227-4318, or visit www.pwpl.info

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
