A guilty verdict for Fish

BARAGA, MI--   Bernard Fish has been found guilty by a jury on armed robbery and other charges. 

The 47-year-old Shawano, Wisconsin man was on trial last week in connection with the 2013 incident in Watton.  Closing arguments were heard Friday morning and the jury arrived at a decision that afternoon. 

Fish was also found guilty of two counts of extortion, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, and one count of impersonating a federal agent.

Fish tried to dismiss his attorney and represent himself, but the judge denied his request. 

A sentencing date has not yet been set.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
