Ishpeming man arrested in meth bust sentenced

MARQUETTE, MI--   An Ishpeming man has been sentenced on meth-related charges. 

Thomas Swick, 37, was arrested in October after police found meth components in an apartment on East Euclid Street.  Swick pleaded guilty to possession of meth in December.  He was sentenced last week to 330 days in jail with credit for 71 days served, but the sentence will be deferred.  Swick will also be on

24 months of probation and will have to enter a drug treatment program. 

Swick’s codefendant, Tiffany Rushton, will be recharged at a later date.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
