Kallio sentenced for stabbing

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Ewen man has been sentenced in connection with a New Year’s Day stabbing incident in Marquette.

Casey Kallio, 26, pleaded no contest in April to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in the stabbing of Christopher Koory, 24, of Marquette.

Kallio was given 12 months in jail and two years of probation.

He served in Afghanistan and apparently suffers from PTSD.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
