CSC suspect headed to prison

MUNISING, MI--   A Chatham man is going to prison for criminal sexual conduct. 

Matthew Jaqua, 39, was charged with six counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct following his arrest in February.  He was accused of abusing a member of his family.

Judge William Carmody convicted Jaqua on all counts following a July bench trial.

Jaqua has been sentenced to 25 to 40 years in prison with credit for 225 days already served.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
