Gun-pointing Watersmeet suspect sentenced

WAKEFIELD, MI--   A Watersmeet man who pleaded guilty to pointing a firearm at someone from his car has been sentenced. 

Donald Klingman, 62, was accused of driving recklessly last December and pointing a gun at another motorist.  He pleaded in September to aiming a firearm without malice and improper possession of a firearm in or upon a motor vehicle. 

Klingman was sentenced Monday to 15 days in jail 12 months’ probation.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
