Joyriding men plead to misdemeanor in Iron County

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   Three men who took a Michigan State Police patrol car on a joyride in Iron River in March have pleaded to misdemeanor charges.

The car was brought to Northland Automotive & Powersports for repairs. After the business closed Stanley Marcell, Alex Nordang, and former Iron County deputy Anthony Silva took the car for a ride, then came back.

The three were originally charged with joyriding – or unauthorized use of an automobile. They pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced charge of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Sentencing is set for August 27 in Iron County District Court.
