Wisconsin man found guilty of trying to murder another man

IRONWOOD, MI--   A Wisconsin man has been found guilty of assault with intent to murder, following a three-day trial in Gogebic County.

On September 1 of last year, a 36-year-old man was found bleeding in the parking lot of the Crestview Motel in Ironwood. He’d been stabbed several times and his throat had been slit.

Benjamin Bozile, 30, fled the scene but was arrested by a Wisconsin State Trooper. He was extradited to Gogebic County, where he stood trial last week.

Bozile faces up to life in prison. Sentencing is set for July 20.

The victim was taken to Aspirus Ironwood Hospital. He was later airlifted to Aspirus Wausau, where he remained in the critical care unit for nearly two weeks.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
