FLINT, MI (MPRN)— A much-watched Flint water crisis civil trial has ended in a mistrial.
The case involved damage claims on behalf of four Flint children exposed to the city’s lead tainted drinking water.
But on their seventh day of deliberations, the jury was deadlocked over claims two engineering firms hired as consultants were partly responsible.
In a note, jurors claimed they faced “physical and emotional harm” if they continued to deliberate.
Plaintiff’s attorney Moshe Maimon insist the nearly six-month trial was not a waste of time.
“I think a lot of great things for our cases were established. And we’re looking forward to getting back on trial in front of Judge Levy again soon.”
Defense attorneys blame government officials who oversaw Flint’s water system.
